Ramblin' Time Again

Boy, I got behind. Hard to imagine getting behind when one simply tends to ramble about nothing. Part of the reason is I wasn't feeling very well for awhile there. Felt like a combination of sinus infection, cold, strep, and some flu that induced extremely sore muscles. To say the least I felt very blah.
More recently, I was gone for four full days to the Austin, Texas area for Excalibur Faire. It's a small fair, in its sixth year, and is more of a medieval fantasy fair than a renaissance fair. As the name Excalibur implies, the story this fair tells is that of King Arthur; this year, though, is different. The story is centered around Ivanhoe and Robin Hood.
There isn't a big variety of entertainment but what is there is very good. We had a fun time watching performers such as the Bedlam Bards, the Shantyman, and as always the joust was fun as well. The food was good, including the cheesecake on a stick. *L*
Maybe next year I'll go a few days early and go to Fiesta Texas in San Antonia. I've not been to that Six Flags yet so you know, I got to do it something just because. *grin* |

Still Ramblin' Along

Where did today go? I opened my eye this morning, blinked, and now it's going on 8:30 PM here in the Central Time Zone. I can't even look back over the day as being so full and productive that time flew.
At least the dogs go their walk and were quite estatic about it. Lorn was so worried she wouldn't get her walk, she kept running to the front door and howling then running over to me and howling again. Imp chose a less subtle approach in her hints to remind me to take them. She would come stand in front of me and just stare for long minutes then butt me on the leg and act like she needed to go in the backyard. Instead of going to the door though, she'd go to where the leashes are and look at the leashes then look very pointedly at me.
And people say children can be bad about pestering to go someplace. *L* |

Ramblin' Day 2

It's a good thing today is Saturday because I slept later than planned. This meant, of course, everything I did today was done later than intended. Nothing like that constant feeling of running behind.
As if that wasn't bad enough, a neighbor's dog who is normally very nice and friendly to me nearly bit off a hand this morning. Lunging and snapping with bared fangs. My crime? Standing there speaking to him in a calm voice like I always do and also as usual, with hand down in supplication for him to sniff before petting him. He'll get no more affection from me that's for sure.
One good deed was taking Imp and Lorn, my two dogs, for a walk this afternoon even though I wasn't much in the mood and even though one ankle was killing me. If I twist that ankle very much more, it's going to twist right off. The girls (Imp and Lorn) just don't understand that I'm not always as excited and eager to take them on power walks. They love and adore their walks though so when I don't take them for reasons other than weather, I always feel guilty, hence taking them even when I don't really want to.
Okay, time to close because otherwise I truly will be rambling, as if I haven't been already. *LOL* |

The option to create a journal has been staring at me every time I came to my hope entrance. Today I decided what the heck and clicked the link to create the journal. I'm not much of a writer so creating this journal is just another example of the manifestations of a total nutty loon. |
