I have just been reading over at Drakus Domitius' journal a reply to my first musings regarding the superiority of his grey-matter to my own home-grown and wine fuelled mush.

It seems our Drakus is ever modest, ascribing richness and subtlety to a mind where either one or the other are often absent...

Me smarter than Drakus? me thinks not! more twisted and with a occasional gift for irony perhaps.. but never smarter.

Ah! how sobering a thing it is to find oneself dumped unceremoniously down to citizen from the lofty heights of past demi-immortality and state sponsored patronage!

It seems that I am faced with having to pay to retain higher status.. the ignominy of it all! ;)

Am I to be like some crass equestrian and be made to pay to attain higher rank or office? Nay say I, I shall not do so!

Ah well, like Cincinnatus I will return to my lands and a citizen like all others remain, for all men are created equal and rest for eternity in equality.
