sanctuary update...
|
Posted at 13:00 EST
|
the mad, zany, wispy, here-and-then gone ole Caily has spent the day updating her domus....so please stop in for a visit...and may all the stars bringest thou love and inmost peace.
break out from thine box, and set thine self free...the moment is Now.
Love is in the air, in you........ |

ever
now
the poet with words shorn
the angel with wings clipped
the hope dying in each death
my father walked into the house
last night
knew it wasn't real
he was dead, dead
dead to us here
still he walked
and I warded
because it was so hard
so full of silver tears
so full of Love
so full
and so empty
Samhain
that time of year
now
an endless now
we are so torn
so broken
so alive
I want some soft hand
to cover my lips
silence all of me
silence us
a wind crossed me
and i sighed
in silence
the memories
will not rest in dead silence.

a rather sobering and provoking article by Mark Morford sent on an e-list I belong to:

in remembrance

of one loved dearly
one missed deeply
an exquisite father
a man of honor and joy
passed into mists for so long now
memories bright and bold
etched in gold
as he was, as he is, eternal
the death in one terrible moment
on that harsh highway
in one instant in time
gone
the tears that shone then
shine now
the remembering
the holding close
the love that did not
die
when he did
never forgotten, never faded
this beloved father of myne
bright the spirit, bold the eternal love.

I never knew it...but her life sounds 'bout like mine...the fam ties, the chaos, the end-of-yer-scribalhood-days-in-a-funk-burnt-out days.
okies, I don't feel so very terribly guilty now. *laughs*
Aelfy, let's go have lots of bowls of kash and celebrate something. *grin* |

Vacation
|

yes! I am finally taking a vacation from work after 'bout a year and half of working my proverbial tush off. only one more thing to do for the week: attend the store meeting from 6 am to 8 am Sunday morning. then off till 11/5.
crikey, hope the department doesn't fall apart while I'm gone. *sigh* my guys better keep up with things or heads are gonna roll! *lol* needless to say, being the only woman in the department and the head of it, I'm the only one that really cares how good it looks and how CLEAN it is. (tis a given that the paint department in a Home Depot is usually a mess)
no clue what I'm gonna do with the break...be creative, be lazy, sleep in, get my body flows back in line with the real world, write some poetry, eat without rushing, dream without worrying 'bout the alarm clock going off.
ahhhhhhhhh! vacation!!!!! something I've not done for years! :) |

God breathed in
and the moment poised
upon a great precipice of Love
Breathing out
all things were
are
will be
I am
within what was
I am
within what is
I am
within all that shall be
I am
Love
forever.
So mote it be...Amen. |

our sick baby-kitty

poor little Diamante (spanish for 'diamond'--cos she has a cool black diamond-shape centered on her nose, and she's white with black) is very sick.
she's lost way too much weight and is pretty dehydrated. we took her to the animal hospital last night and they re-hydrated her, but no diagnosis as of yet. *sigh* for some reason I'm suspecting kidney failure. they already ruled out leukemia. I gave her some water via syringe, but she wasn't much into it. and she's hardly into eating...
she's my son's fave kitty of the huge "cat tribe" here...so he'll be really super-sad if she passes on. I'm pretty worried...she just looks horrible.
I just don't think she'll make it........... :( |

Yearly Inventory
|
Posted at 22:00 EST
|
at work (Home Depot)........which is doing me in! Can you imagine trying to make an accurate count of almost 2500 product counts in one department (paint)? (thanks the gods she's not in charge of, say, hardware!) crikey, and just how many freakin' tubes of caulk are there? or applicators? or tack clothes? or roller frames? or paint cans? *eek*
auditing bays, looking for fallen products, finding stuff that folks just shoved into the wrong place once they decided they didn't want it *grrr* (pet peeve of mine), ensuring everything in the overheads is tagged and properly counted, making sure my people are doing their part in the whole inventory process....*sigh*...and my boss (the store manager) wants it "flawless"....as if humans were flawless. *rolls eyes*
over the next couple of days all the department heads will have to work super-long hours to ensure that perfection. and it sucks being in the store all night long (which I've done way too many times before--one woman with a bunch of men *rofl*).
I do so wish our customers wouldn't come into the store and trash it. wish they'd respect all the work we have to do to pick up after them. sometimes I feel like a @@@ maid! Did ya really have to leave yer kid's soda on my shelf? Did ya really have to spray paint my floor to test out a color -- which is the damn color of the lid? and yeah, we have to clean that off! Did ya have to rip open a product and leave the box torn and ragged? Did ya have to steal parts off my display models? why steal from us in the first place?
I wonder just what those folks' parents ever taught them, if anything. Those kids who tear up my paint samples display area. the lame thieves. *groan*
You want happy and cooperative Home Depot employees? Then don't treat them like dirt, don't make them pick up your dirt or pick up after yer kids. Its your store after all. And ours. Its a team effort to keep it a great shopping and working experience.
We have our own lives outside of work, families, children, school, our own dreams.
Don't make us look at going to work as if it were a nightmare.
wow! *steps off her soapbox* but really....sometimes I hate the place just cos of how our customers treat it. :(
can't wait for inventory to be over....and hope I don't get written up or fired over it. *sigh* |
