Speaking of side jobs Posted at 11:00 EST
So there is the docter's wife who wanted to do a small fund raiser dinner party at her house. She wanted to know if I would be interested in helping her.
So i threw on a tux shirt and black apron and butlered hourdourves and bartended for 5 hours for a bunch of rich folks.
Even the doggy was snobby, I tried to pet him and he just walked away. Stupid Dalmation.
Anyway, It was an entertaining evening, and i had three of her friends ask for my card. Funny, huh? I told them Im open for biz with the exception of a wedding in April Im officiating. (yes, i got another wedding gig. can you believe it?) ha!...I may not know what i want to be when i grow up, but things are working out pretty good right now.
Reverend Vic? Posted at 10:00 EST
So I have this friend that needed to get married over the weekend. It just so happens that I'm an ordained minister. I'm not sure why I ever got ordained in the first place, maybe I figured two years ago that cocktailing and table dancing just wasnt cutting it for me...

Carissa says that her lawyer tells her that if she doesnt marry before Oct 1st, she cant file bankruptcy at the discounted rate of 1500.00. Rather it would be 3 grand each. Well, i thought it over..was that really a good enough reason to marry someone?

Anyways, the ceromony was on saturday, it was my first time as a rookie reverend. I'm not really sure if thats the approriate tittle, But Im sticking to it till i can think of something otherwise.

The wedding was great, there was about 20 attendees and not only did I play priestess, but wedding coordinater too! I did the flowers and the music and yadda yadda yadda. I think I could really get into this biz.

maybe i could even get a bussiness card.

Roman Balls Posted at 13:00 EST
Thanks for the idea Tobes! I guess I can tell our baby kitties they dont have to play the lions in the coliseum ring afterall! ..Although,... the kids DID have thier hearts set on chasing and capturing the wild kitties!

Instead, we will play:

"Pila"
Basically a game of keep away. Can involve 4 -10 players in a circle with one kid in the middle. The Pila is thrown to adjacent players, trying to keep it away from the kid in the middle. Sounds like a good game to play at a Bday party.
Daily Life in Ancient Rome Posted at 13:00 EST
Did you know, that The ancient Romans invented more games than any other culture. This is fantastic, because I'm planning a 7 yr old Birthday party on Monday for about 20 kids.

They mostly ate finger foods for such festivals so I have opted for Little Caesars pizza, enough to feed 20 hungry grubby mouths.

Fenton thought of a dandy idea, a Treasure hunt. Clues will be put on scrolls and the youngins will scavanger around the park looking for the treasure..which will be chocolate gold roman coins. They sell em at a party shop here in town.

We will of course play some ball, a popular game amongst small Roman children AND Adults!

All children attending my kids party have been asked to come in costume, so of course we will need a prize for the best dressed!

And last but not least, we need to do something with swords or shields. I thought about cutting out some cardboard and letting them decorate them decorate their own sheilds. I wish we could make swords for all the kids, though I'm stuck on how-to for that idea.

fianlly, we will finish with cake, and waa-laa! Should be a good party, I hope! I am still open for more ideas, if anyone has em, throw me a scroll! Thanks, Vix

Since I know very little about Roman history,( I tried to talk him into doing something more celtic...it was a no go...)I need help with ideas for games, crafts, decor , prizes and such. So what did little Romans do for fun? Anyone? Anyone?

John Denver Songs...Really? Posted at 17:00 EST
I've never been a John Denver fan. I just really never liked his music. Now, Tom Jones on the other hand....*purrrrs*

Really though...What WAS John Denvers last hit? ....

I'd say....
A scotch, a beer chaser and the Pacific Ocean.

The color of my mind Posted at 01:00 EST
"I've dreampt in my life dreams that have stayed with me ever after, and changed my ideas they've gone through and through me, like wine through water, and altered the colour of my mind." -Wuthering Heights, by Emily Bronte
