10 years of service Posted at 22:00 EST
I'd like to talk about People understanding People. Like one man decides all around him r stupid and hes the brilliant one. Poor Wilbur has reminded me with his saying to an annoying Man with which he can't get along
*You may know your books sir, but you know nothing about
people!* Yes we must all work a bit harder on being understanding of all people, all walks of life, we are none of the same,, We as individuals are what makes this earth so darn interesting....

There we all were, working when the boss called us all to hear his announcment. We stopped what we were doing and gathered around.
*I'd like to say "says Mr J" that Wilber has just had his 10 year anniversary here at this place of employment. "Thank you Wilber, yadda yadda yadda.." He hands Wilber a letter of recognition. Wilber says thank you and all the co-workers applaud.
Remember, that good ole' Wilber can't see so good and he didn't even read his letter, He just laid it on the table and went on back to work. So I took the liberty to gaze over an sneak a peek at it and saw that he would be getting a small bonus check.
So I told Wilber the good news. Well let me tell you that Wilber was delighted and spending his money in his mind right at that very moment.
The kicker here is Dear ole' Betty. I think she comes from somewhere deep South. Not stupid mind you , she just doesn't think first.
Anyway, She says " Wilber! Oh My Gosh, this is the first time anyone was ever recognized like that , I think you should bring Mr J out to dinner, for being so nice"
Oh for goodness sakes I thought, Mr J was near enough to hear that silly comment. It's not as if the money came from his pocket.
Well, Wilber is so kind hearted, I'm sure if I hadn't have said something, Wilber would have asked Mr J and wife to dinner at some fancy restaurant.

BUT thanks to me, I intervened and said " GOODNESS BETTY" Poor Wilber has been working for peanuts here for an entire 10 years, they finaly give him enough cash to pay his gas bill , and YOU want him to take Mr J out to dinner? GEZZZZZZZZZZZ

A stormy eve in Michigan
A rainy day at Oakwoods Park, where we ride to view the deer who come out just before nightfall. No luck tonight.

You looken at me?
I'm so attached to my children it's a handicap I tell you!! I don't want to become an enabler and thats what my husband accuses me of but here's my way of thinking.
I will do everything in my power to make life simpler for them such as send them to college, let them use my car to get there. I believe this is My responsibility, hubby says they should be paying for their own auto to get to school and paying their own tuition for college,. well we split the costs,, through federal aid, I do take out a parent direct loan each year, and I will continue to do so as long as it takes!! My job don't pay the bills though. I take every cent I earn and try to pay toward tuition.. All our lives we have struggled to get by, we have our home paid for and 2 junk autos paid for. I know they won't last forever and I'am worried when my car dies, then my children won't have a way to get to school. We work all our lives trying to get by. I don't tell my children to get jobs.. I want them to continue their education, (I myself am only a highschool grad) My 2 eldest children are now well on their ways, I shall not complain, I still owe on their tuition. One is a Teacher married to a Computer techie earning much more than my husband and myself. The other is an airframe mechanic and his sweet new wife is a photographer. They are going to do just fine. My next son is in college wanting to teach Music, He is so talented when it comes to music, he composes and creates musical instruments from anything laying around the house I love it!! My youngest is also in college and still uncertain on what she might do, although her interests are mainly on phyc the human mind and body and world wide religion. I support her fully on what ever it is she decides to do with her edu.

I look back at photos when they were all babies and it hurts me to see them grow. But as they leave home I promise myself and them that I will not stand in the way of where they decide to go. I will not and shall never let on that my heart is breaking to see them *fly*

Is there chocolate in this? Posted at 18:33 EST
Poor Wilber, anything he sees that has brown in it he thinks is chocolate. Even the marble bread. No one can convince him other wise. I sometimes tease him and ask if the brown gravy has chocolate in it. Wilber thinks for a while and decides no there is no chocolate in the gravy. So I asked "Then how did it get brown?" Wilber thought again for a minute, and decided that yes, brown gravy has chocolate too.
Wilber couldn't see Posted at 18:24 EST
Poor Wilber needed to get a physical for work, and they noticed he held the paper up to his nose so's he could see to read.
OK "says human resorces people* Wilber U need to see an Eye Dr. and I'll check on you in 3 months to be sure your wearing your new glasses.
Wilber says this is discrimination. He thinks they r discrimnimating because of his age and not being able to see. He is very worried I guess about how he would look in glasses and he really doesn't want to wear them. I can tell you that yes, the poor man needs glasses. So all of us co-workers talked him into going to CVS (the local drug store) and get the cheap generic glasses.

Work told him if he didn't have his glasses the next day then they would send him home. Reading orders right is the biggest part of the job so eyesight is important if you want to get it right. It could be a matter of life or death if you read wrong.

SOooooooooo , next day Wilber had on his new glasses, for about 10 minutes when he first showed up. He told me they give him headaches. I asked, "did you test them at the store?" he said "Yes, I looked in the mirror they looked ok to me."
My Feet hurt Posted at 18:00 EST
Wilber mentioned to a lady that his feet were hurting him after a long day at work. She suggested he put inserts in. He said "yes my driveway is always full of water" I havent' decided what he thought she meant, or what he was thinking.

I'm constantly one reason or another saying to Wilber, "I was born in the Night, but not last Night". I believe that Wilber understood that comment, so the other day he for what ever reason, I honestly can't remember, thought of my comment and tryed to repeat and said "I wasn't born last night, and I am not stupid".

we all giggled

Wilber Posted at 21:36 EST
I wonder if this would be a good place to be writing about Wilber?

That's an absolutely perfect name for a nice sorta guy.
This guy is like the nicest man in all the world, I'll bet if there were a nice man contest, he would have first prize.
The problem is, that the poor guy is so very dumb. Or maybe dumb is a bad choice of words, but he can't see very good and his hearing is very very bad. All these sorta things come from getting old, Yes ageing sucks but....Therefore it causes some very funny situations when he's around.

I'am not such a youngster myself. I forget what some of the funny situations were now, Next time I see him though, there will be something funny happening or said, I just know it so I'll have to keep pen an pad in hand so's I can remember what it was that was so funny because then I'll keep notes see.. yadda yadda yadda...............

I didn't think about real life situations Posted at 19:33 EST
I understand a journal means to write down your every thought or days doings. But hell? I should think noone would really be interested in my thoughts or doings, Thats kinda personal don't you (thats if anyone called you is reading this) think?
But then I thought maybe this would be a good place to vent.
Generally, I am a pretty happy camper and nothing really needs venting for me as of yet, or as of today.
I guess I could vent about smoking. Yes I am a smoker for many years now, I use to get change back from the 35 cents I put into the machines, 3 pennies to be exact, taped onto the pack. Thats a lot of smoking I suppose but now these days, we smokers are loseing the battle in two ways.
1: by disturbing our own good health
2: the non smokers are winning the battle on where I can smoke.
Damn you non-smokers anyway, If you want fresh air then YOU go outside!!

One Speed, and that's slow Posted at 04:15 EST
How dare we compare how our neighbor does things, thinking that we can do much better then he can. *I can do that much faster then he can, why does he move so damn slow?*
Tired of doing so much more then he? Why even worry about that? Just do what your doing and forget the other guy. I swear it will make your life much less stressful, a happier day will follow if you just quit worrying and complaining about how you do so much more than the other guy.
Am I making any sense?
Let me give you a for instance........

Casting stones Posted at 20:00 EST
sunrise2004river.jpg
How sad is the day when we find ourselves worring about the other guy. I'am not talking about his health. I mean to say about what he does to fill his time.
Nothing annoys me more than the fellow who *casts stones*.
Lets just take a look at ourselves. You can accomplish much more in life if you just do *your thing* and never mind what your neighbor is doing.

Since I can't have but 10 entrys here I'll just continue here maybe.
My thoughts are that I'm scared to death about the future of my sons and daughters and our stupid country. What if there's a draft? What would become of my children? I could never deal with the fact that Bush would be forcing my children to kill. This isn't right. SO many young children are dead because of him. We need Peace in our world and we need it now. Why in hell does Bush want to rule all the countrys anyway? Let them be,, Just don't deal with them, Save our babies please
