My particular historical interests in Ancient Rome are ferns and what people did with them. What kind did they eat, what kind did they wear, were any games played using cabbages, for example. (No, no, no! Ferns were never sturdy enough for playing with -- the Greeks discovered that years ago. Haven't you read Plato?)
