Femi had just seen the doctor and calmly announced that she was with child again. This was overwhelming news! I couldn't wait to tell everyone. I ran up to the roof of my house and shouted it out over the rooftops!! A few laughed and made gestures with their hands welcoming the birth. Others just glared and turned away but I didn't care. I was happy! I left her to go to the palace to seek an audience with the Pharaoh to inform him of the news. He did say to me that he would welcome me at anytime. I graciously took up his offer. Approaching the gates, the guards became uneasy at the sight of me. Wondering what was going on, I asked one of them why. He informed me that he was to arrest me on sight. With a spear pointed at my chest, I could hardly run away, nor fight him without any weapons of my own. Besides, I had done nothing wrong! I was sure that this was a misunderstanding. One of the guards signaled to others to come to the gate to relieve them of their posts whilst they escorted me inside. I wasn't taken to Pharaoh but to the prison without seeing anyone. Confused I didn't struggle but still could not understand it. I was thrown into a pit where the only means of getting out was by climbing a rope through a narrow opening. Looking around the pit, all I had was a small pallet to sleep on plus a bucket for a toilet. That was it. No window nor bars. After a couple of hours, I started to shout. I wasn't even sure whether or not I was heard for no-one came at all. Day turned into night as I could hear the other prisoners quieten down. I am assuming it's night. I don't really know. Nor do I know how many hours had passed. Sitting on the pallet, I tried to think over what would merit such an arrest. To condemn an innocent man without a trial...
