She waited till evening, of course. Donned in her dark robe she would be difficult to see, and she didn't want an audience for this evening's activities.

The Crann na Sraibhthine saw the mist approach and knew that the light would follow. If trees could smile, I would smile, it thought. But then it thought about the impending disaster and decided...

She was not afraid of a walk, she walked often; it was good exercise and kept her figure trim. She smiled at that thought and thought of her mother. She let that thought pass and walked with a confident step till she approached the great tree.

It was an experience she always enjoyed. She loved the old tree. It liked her visits as well. For a moment they stood there like two Titans, exchanging energy and power as they had done time and again. Then she bowed her head and the roots of the Crann na Sraibhthine splayed outward, framing a large, gnarled doorway. She stepped confidently over the threshold and said, "It has been too long my old friend." The roots of the tree folded back into the earth so that the conversation of the two friends could not be heard. *A pity, that. You might be better prepared had you heard.*
