As you can see, the Insula is quite spacious, but only the area in red below is used. The storeys above are rented out as apartments and offices, as well as the rooms peripheral to the ground floor. Let me take you on a tour! As you enter the foyer (A) you can see the atrium in front of you (B). Many secretarial offices (C) are needed to assist the Dominus, who works facing the door in his Tablinum (E). In the library (G) are kept any texts that I might need to consult, along with daily reports from the estates. He sometimes relaxes in his private sitting room (H) when not entertaining diplomats in the Triclinium (J). A nice walk in the peristyle (I) is sometimes needed to break the tension. The meeting room (K) connects the main parts of the house to the gardens and loggia in the rear (L). The port (O), kitchen (M) and storage rooms (N) are tucked nicely away in the back of the house. or A Brief Chronicle of the World of the Romans. From the Battle of Saxa Rubra to Recent Times. Brethren from the Eastern Empire, who reckon years from the birth of their Saviour, subtract seven hundred fifty three years from the dates given. That would put 1065 AUC as 312 AD. [This is a little alternate history timeline I made that goes up to 1300 I believe. It is incomplete, but I always liked it and thought I might post it up for everyone\'s delight.]
