Poem for Freyja
Free flies the awesome Vanadis,
Valfreyja strong:
by falcon hide hid, she wanders,
Sessrumnir's song.
Golden glow of Nerthus' daughter,
dreams inspiring,
Brisingamen bright the dwarves wrought,
Freyja firing.
Mardoll maid - pride of Noatun's sire,
shines across the seas,
Lustrous Lady and Wain-god's mate,
makes sea storms flee.
On battle-boar the wild Sır rides,
Rede she does know,
protection passes o'er her men,
felling their foe !
Hnossa's noble mother - Gefn,
Gersemi's dame,
Freyja's tears today still falling,
sought still the same.
