The Mist-hleoð of Eirikr Knudsson -- [Entrance ] [Courtyard ] [Boc-hord ] [Study ]   [Private Garden Closed]

Welcome to my Husgeard [Courtyard]. We are safe here from the outer mists, try though they do to seep inside. It is here that I conduct my social activities at AncientWorlds and in Germania. Please feel free to say Hi on my personal message board and let me know you stopped by. Or meet some of my friends.

You wish to know more about me? Well, I was born in Jorvik (York) of a Norse father and a Saxon mother. My father called me Eirikr after the fashion of his kin. Yet by culture and language I count myself among the Saxons, in whose land, the land of my mother, I have mostly dwelled. Still, I hope to learn more of my father's people and language.

A bit about Eirikr in RL

He waxed strong in the Middle Low Franconian (er, Dutch) colony of Nieuw Amsterdam, known more widely today as Novum Eboracum, or Ny Jorvik (New York), living today many leagues south of his birthplace. His formal academic pursuits have been in Christian and Hebrew Scriptures.

Eirikr's unofficial academic pursuits also include languages of all kinds: Germanic, Romance, Semitic, Hellenic, well that's it so far, anyway. A fan of Tolkien, Beowulf, King Alfred, Shakespeare, Edgar Allen Poe, medieval polyphonic sacred music, history and literature generally, and just having a good time.

You scored as Beowulf. Heroic, strong, and maybe a little on the proud side--not that you don't have a reason to be. After all, you defeat THREE major evils that ravage the countryside as well as many minor beasties that get in the way before you're done in. You simply don't give up. Without you, Hrothgar's Golden Hall would still stand empty.
