The tablinium is the place to read and write. I keep my books in a small library room, only waxtablets and stylus are waiting here for me, together with some fruits and water.

I myself do not use quill and papyrus, papyrus is for reading. In case I wanted to write a book, I would order a scriba from the local bookseller and scriptorium and dictate him.
