You are a Numenorian
Númenorë.
Westernessë.
Andor.
The Land of Gift.
Atalantë.
Númenórë was an island far to the West, a "land apart" given to the heroic
Edain (humans) of the First Age who had aided the Elves in the wars against
Morgoth. The realm of Númenor is held to have begun in the 32 year of the
Second Age, when
Elros 90 years old ascended the throne in the city of
Armenelos where he was inscribet as Tar-Minyatur in the High-Elven tongue;
Quenya, and it lastet until 3319 where it was drowned benieth the
Belegaer and the Second Age ended.
When Morgoth were overtrown, the gods held council. The Elves were summoned
to return into the West and those who choosed so dwelt again in the lonely isle
Eressëa. But men of the three faithful Houses and those who have joined them
were richly rewarded, for
Eonwë came among them and thaught them and gave them wisdom, power and a
life longer than any others of mortal race. A great land was made for them ; not
a part of Middle-Earth and not wholly separate from it.
Númenor was raised from the depths of the sea by
Ossë and established by
Aule and enriched by
Yavanna and the Elves brought flowers and fountains out of Eressëa from
Avallónë and wrought gardens in Numenore where the Gods themselves at times
would walk and this land was called Andor by the Valar; The Land of Gift and by
its own people it was called Westernesse, for it lay West of all the lands
inhabitet by Mortals
And then the Edain set sail they gathered all the ships, great and small,
that they had built with the help of the Elves and those that were willing to
depart took there wives and children and all such wealth they possesed and then
they set sail upon the deep waters following the star. After the first
expedition lead by Elros, many other ships, alone or in small fleets, came West
bearing others of the Edain, those who at first were reluctant to dare the Great
sea but could not endure to be partet from those who had gone and those who were
scattered and could not be assembled to go with the first sailing. The boats
were of Elvish models each one steered by one of the Eldar and the hole
migration is said to have taken about 50 years maybe longer and it ended only
when Cirdan instructet by the Valar would provide no more ships or guides, but at
this time somewhere between 5000 and 10000 people had migratet to Numenor. (Lr.)
Numenor was in outline a five-pointet star with a central portion about 250
miles across North and South, East and West. There were 5 large regions named
Forostar; the Northlands,
Andustar; the Westlands,
Hyarnustar; the South-Westlands,
Hyarrostar; the South-Eastlands and
Orrostar; The Eastlands. in the middle there was a region called
Mittelmar; the Inlands, a part of this region was called
Emerie and another part of the inlands was called
Arandor; the Kingsland and here was the city
Romenna with its haven and
Armenelos where the King lived. And in the middle of the island in the area
of Arandor was the Pillar of the heavens
Meneltarma which was sacred to the worship of Eru Iluvatar. Between the two
promontories Andustar and Hyarnustar was an area called
Nisimaldar. (Ut.)
In the wearing of time the people of Numenor grew great and glorious, they
were in all things like the Firstborn but yet less fair and wise, though greater
in stature for the Numenoreans were taller than even the tallest of Men in
Middle-Earth and abowe all there arts they nourised ship-building and sea-craft
and they became mariners whose like shall never be seen again and they sailed
from Eressea in the West which was as far as they were aloved to the shores of
Middle-Earth where they came as teachers of lore and craft but their hearts were
set Westward and they began to hunger for the undying bliss of
Valinor; the home of the Gods.
And a shadow came upon Numenor and its glory fell. Though there Lords had
grantet them a long life, weariness came upon them and they died and there
life-span seemed short in the eyes of the Edain and the Numenorians began to
murmur against the Gods and discontent grew among them, And the Gods were
angered.
