The original Subrostrani gathered around a message board which first appeared at Time-Warner Pathfinder in the summer of 1995 as part of the online chapters about ancient Rome: SPQR. A small, but dedicated group has posted faithfully ever since. Dull and stodgy as backbenchers in the Senate, Subrostrani members have been well acquainted with each other these past XII years, and resemble an old gentlemen's club after tea. The Subrostrani nominate new members from within their ranks, and seeks to reunite people who have either played the online game/mystery SPQR, or convey both an enthusiasm for classical history and a congenial demeanour.
