Welcome to Art of Ancient Worlds! As of May 2007, we are in the process of re-energizing the group. We invite you to look at the 'timeline galleries' boards and you can spot them as the blue boards.

There is beautiful art to view in the various timeline galleries, but what we're really excited about is our member artists! The purple board and its threads are there for member use (and us to post our praise of their work!). Member Galleries are the personal galleries of individual AW artists who generously share their own artwork, but there is a wide selection of art also on the Various Members Gallery thread you shouldn't miss. Do you have a favorite piece of art or sculpture from all of art's history? Post it in our Favorite Works of Art thread.

General member boards can be found in the Gallery Courtyard. The Entry Hall is where we wave "hi" to new members. Or enjoy a virtual espresso in DaVinci's Cafe and talk about art with your fellow members.

The Special Exhibition board is where you can find full-fledged exhbitions from various members encompassing a display of art works and a board for planning future exhibitions. In the Winter of 2005, Art of AW presented A Winter Wonderland, a member exhibition encompassing a display of art work either original or favorites reflective of the season.

Featured Artist Caileadair Etana Caily has graced AW with many original creative images. Be sure to check her gallery here to see some of her handiwork. The featured piece was created for Imbolc 2006 Brídeóg Decorating Contest in which Caily won the People's Choice award for her free-form artistic interpretation of Brighid. With Imbolc almost upon, Caily's Brídeóg is a perfect work to feature. About Brídeóg: On the eve of An Fhéill Bhrìghde (The Feast of Brighid), in much of Ireland and the highlands of Scotland, a procession of young men and women called Biddies or Bridies would carry an effigy of Brighid in the form of a decorated straw doll from door to door, and sing and dance in exchange for money to fund a ceili (dance).
