From all over the northlands the great chiefs and their warrior retinues are gathering. At Mattiacum - fortress of the mighty Chattian nation - the brothers Arpus and Catumerus are preparing to welcome the gathering of the tribes, as well as visitors from more distant places. Already the chiefs of the great Cherusci tribe have arrived, with their neighbours the Bructeri and Angrivarii. From the River Elbe have come the Langobardi and Semnones, while many war-leaders of the Marcomanni and Narharvali are said to be due to arrive soon. And from the distant Vistula the mighty Lemovii and their smaller neighbours, the Rugians and Goths, are said to be sending representatives.
The feast is being prepared, the priests are readying the sacrifice to Lord Ingaz - the Fraujablotaz - and soon all will be ready to receive our honoured guests.
