Iutenheb was the wife of Hekanakht, a land holder. She is an example of marital problems due to her probably being a second wife when the first one has either died or been divorced. In a letter Heqanakth defends her and her rights to make her more acceptable to the rest of the family members.
The extended family in which Iutenheb lives, consists of over sixteen people, counting her own son or the son of an earlier wife, with a family of his own, Iutenheb“s mother-in-law, assorted male and female servants and/or relatives, and even families of subordinates to her husband.
