Contest of Germania
Courtly Love Poetry
Final Judging: Aug 18, 2007 - 00:00 est.
CONTEST DESCRIPTION AND RULES:
Welcome to our third annual Courtly Love Poetry Contest.
This year, the rules have changed a little bit however.
As always there will be no rule against anyone joining us, be it the first time you would like to participate or if you are one of our great bards. You will however be given a small list of words that will have to be included in your poems if you would like to enter the competition. These words will be found one the list at the bottom of this page. You will also have to keep in line with the theme of the contest, which is courtly love.
Last, but not least, there will also be a limit of how many poems you may submit to the contest -- which is three. You may, of course, post more than three times but please indicate which poems are for judging by including the words: CONTEST ENTRY in the subject of the post.
This contest will start on Thursday 16th of August, at 19:00 AW Time and continue throughout Saturday until midnight, AW time. At which time the judges, who will remain secret so they cannot be bribed with cyber wiskey, will begin to deliberate on a winner. That should give them enough time to find their favourites.
Of course we will welcome any poetry anyone would like to post, even if you do not wish to enter the competition, although you won't be able to win any prizes if you do not sign up before posting. The main thing is...come on in, make yourself at home, settle down and enjoy... and may the best bard win!
The list of words that will have to be used in your poems are:
Love - Lips - Arms - Life - Knife - Death - Feather - Rose - Butter - Peacock - Ham Hock
Of these words you will have to use a minimum of four in each poem.
Now, Good luck to one and all and may Sapho inspire you!
Please be sure to post all of your poetry contributions at The Courtly Love Poetry Contest Thread. Entries posted here will not be considered for prizes!
