no title
( * Louis Cornelius - Oct 23, 2006 - 15:26 )
Did you ever feel like the world is a tuxedo and you are a brown pair of shoes? Someone solved this in 25 minutes! I can't even find the first piece. Would anyone care to offer a little help?
The Shame of it all!!!!
( * Livia Servilius - Oct 22, 2006 - 11:57 )
I confess...*sniff*...I was in my cups and misspelled the poet's name.....do forgive me? I must check out the Chian/Falernian Lovers support group...*hangs her head while looking for the closest amphorae*
SOLVED IT !!!
( * Balbas Scriptor - Oct 22, 2006 - 00:25 )
And if this lusty architect can do it, you can, Herky. (The name is spelled wrong.)
Cavavy?
( * Heraklia Aelius - Oct 21, 2006 - 23:34 )
Tarnation! Is there any way to beg or steal a clue or hint for # 3? The Cavavy one? It stopped me before and it stops me again! lol (I'm not in the running to win, but I found # 1 and # 2 and was getting SO excited . . .)
Ditto for me!
( * Bacchus Isocrates - Oct 21, 2006 - 16:54 )
I mean on that Disqualifier thing of Topiltzin's, It took me a little longer than an hour. Sure was fun though!
I bet Leela found them in 5-10 minutes! *G*
( * Topiltzin Tupac - Oct 21, 2006 - 16:25 )

For me it took about an hour, mostly because of really slow connection. And this is not to put down it's hardness or the really great work that Livia has done; it's just that some hunters are so used to the hunting and how to do it. And I had plenty of fun while hunting! I signed only to get the participant plaque, which I hope is golden too!

Disqualifier: I am participating in this event in support of the festival, and I am not eligible for consideration for a prize.
I love treasure hunts
( * Laurels Curius - Oct 21, 2006 - 15:18 )
But I'm not even going to attempt this one, I know from experience I'll be up cursing at the pc till dawn! Great job hiding them Livia.
LIVIA!!!!!
( * Cornellia Cornelius - Oct 21, 2006 - 15:11 )
I need help!

well, other than that kind of help.

I've found 6 pieces, including the last one, following the clues......but apparently I missed a few along the way because you said there were 15....eeeeeeeeeeeeeep

Oh yes....I'm not eligible for prizes but I'm just having loads of fun!

CONTEST DESCRIPTION AND RULES:

The Lost Gold of Tolosa scroll222.jpg

Quintus Servilius Caepio the Elder
was a Roman statesman and general, Consul in
106 BC,Proconsul of Cisalpine Gaul 105 BC.
led one of the two forces against the Germanic
tribes, the Teutones, the Cimbri, and
Tungri/Marcomanni/Cherusci in the
Battle of Arausio in 105 BC, along with then
consul, Gnaeus Mallius Maximus.

While marching to Arausio, Caepio plundered the
temples of the town of Tolosa, finding over 50,000
15 lb. bars of gold and 10,000 15 lb. bars
of silver. The riches of Tolosa were shipped back
to Rome, but only the silver made it; the gold
was stolen by a band of marauders, who were
believed to have been hired by Caepio himself.
The Gold of Tolosa was never found, and was said
to have been passed all the way down to the
last heir of the Servilii Caepiones,
Marcus Junius Brutus.
