15000 hs. in the Contest Kitty!
( * Heraklia Aelius - Aug 31, 2006 - 12:48 )
LOL - by Labor Day, when all patrons of AW can 'buy' their own properties site-wide (the launch will be 9/4), there will be a lot of patrons running around wishing they had a way of increasing their cash flow.
We have therefore increased the kitty for the Site-Wide Trivia Contest to 15,000 hs., which is the largest contest kitty I've personally seen. The rules will be that however many team members there are, will each get a portion of the first, second, and third prizes. We'll define the prize amounts when we see how many teams/contestants we have! In any event, you maybe won't be able to fund a villa (7500 hs), but you can certainly have a whole LOTTA huts and houses if you or your team win. ;)
Germania's here!
( * Eirikr Knudsson - Aug 30, 2006 - 15:00 )
*Eirikr gets off his horse ahd begins to remove tome after tome from his overladen beast of burden*
"Oh, and I brought some fine German beer for the contest. Be sure to have as MUCH as you want before those tough questions start coming!" ;-)

That was "good word usage". Wood had nothing to do with it.
*Blushes*
( * Antonia Sempronius - Aug 27, 2006 - 23:09 )
Please tell me you don't announce who comes in last! If not, I'll try it.
By the way, ennui, good wood usage!
Suggestion
( * Signor Grande Romulus - Aug 23, 2006 - 22:54 )
I suggest we make the trivia questions relevant to the issue of "Labor Day".
Why do we celebrate "Labor"? How is it relevant to ancient history and history throughout the ages? Is the socialist view of "Labor" relevant to the discussion of a trivia contest for the ocassion of a Labor Day celebration and labor's contribution to world culture and advancement of the "working man"?
CONTEST DESCRIPTION AND RULES: ![]() First Prize
There will be 24 questions(3 from each world)covering the history of all eight AW worlds based on ancient history. Each question will have a multiple-choice set of answers. From time of posting, each team will have up to 5 minutes to post their answers in format showing the Question No., the answer, and the team submitting. (Each team needs to pick a team captain who alone will post on their behalf). The team or individual first posting the correct answer wins the point, so you have to balance accuracy and speed. If no team or individual gets the correct answer within 5 minutes of posting, we will move on to the next question. There will be a 15-minute 'break' after the midway point to allow everyone to stretch and fetch another cup of wine, and for the spectators to cheer their contestants.
The Site-Wide Contest comes but once a year. Come encourage the teams and celebrate the winners at the Site-Wide Trivia Contest Thread! |
