There is nothing nice then to come up the garden path and suddenly find that traveling along the currents of air the smell of delicious food teasing your nose. As you draw closer the next sense sets in to motion and your mouth begins to water and suddenly you are feeling content with the world around you.
The wonderful odor that comes from cooking and baking can take you back to another time and place. Perhaps that is why I love to bake so much as it takes me back to when I was a small child. Every summer my sisters and brother would spend our summer holiday/vacation at our grandparents house and almost without fail on the day of our arrival my grandfather would pick us up and take us home to their house. Grammy would be there eagerly waiting to give us a much needed hug and kiss and that is when it would hit us children. The wonderful aroma of Grammy's baking, there on the table past the woodshed in the back hall would be racks and dishes of cooling sugar cookies and squares. MMMmmmmmmmm!
So, I have started this thread for things that I like to make or bake. I would love anyone else to add an entry of their favourites, whether it is something that is made as a tradition or on a regular basis or occasional.
