The goal of "The Evolution And Legacy Of Classical Greece" will be a group dedicated to the discussion and study of the Greeks from their early migrations through their rise in power, as a culture, economic, and military force, to their ultimate decline. (ca. 800 BC to 167 BC)

The Ages of Bronze and Iron, group proudly announces its first essay competition. The competition is open to all members, from Grammateis to Anagnostai (non-members interested in participating should first join the group). There is no specific theme but entries should be restricted to the chronological framework of the group (ca. 1700-700 BCE). Entries should be about 1,000 words and the deadline for submission is February 10th, 2003. The winning essay will appear in Acta Diurna, and it will be accompanied with a medal. A medal will also be awarded to the runner up.
