Silver ministerium was an indication of its owner's status,

as shown in this fresco from the tomb of aedile V. Priscus in Pompei, showing a full dinner-set in silver.

Ministerium from the Moregine treasure.

The treasure was found in 2000 in a place called Moregine, south of Pompei,

during some road-works to enlarge the near-by highway.

It is one of the most important findings of the last years and its value is given by

the quality and the variety of the silver ware and the refinement of its decorations.

Ministerium from the Boscoreale treasure.

This treasure was retrieved in 1895 in the Vesuvio area between

Torre Annunziata and Boscoreale.

It was surreptitiously exported and sold.

The Boscorale treasure is now in The Louvre Museum.
