"The original Birket Habu pool party... Queen Ti was ever so miffed that the priests of Amun didn't ask her to play the role of Osiris in their festival (they thought she was too old apparently) ... so she got hubby to dig the pool/lake... pulling workers and builders off Amun temple sites to satisfy her whim and stick it up the priesthood. On the day of the festival, she went sailing for the 1st time - had a party of her own - and very few people turned up at the temple of Amun to watch the Isis/Osiris plays etc. Can't recall what the name of the actual Amun festival was... could have been Amunhotep's Sed festival. Anyway... history has it that the pool/lake idea originally came from Meryre - high priest of the little known cult of the Aten. So Meryre whispers to Ti 'this is how you save face at get back at the nasty Amunists'... the rest is history."
