Okay gang, here it is. The first official Role-Play Extravaganza in the history of the New Hugrunar! You the voters have decided that we will reenact the coming of the Great Army of Danes ca. 865 AD, to include the founding of the Danelaw.
This one could go on for a looong time, so this board will always be busy. Keep an eye on it.
The purpose of the first thread is for "Out Of Context" (forthwith referred to as "OOC") posting regarding scenarios, events, and general hullabaloo regarding this scenario. I'll start posting with a brief history of what went on during the years of the Danes occupation of northern England during the late Dark/early Middle Ages. I certainly don't know everything about it, so I'm counting on you guys to help out by posting details that I will certainly miss, ideas, wants, needs, bitches, gripes, and complaints.
The second thread will be the casting thread, where parts will be divvied up among our players. There will be both actual, historical folks, and completely made-up characters for people to play (made-up characters will be approved by Yours Truly, with advice from my Styresmänner Thiu and Gaze). The historical characters will of course take precedence and center stage, with made-up characters used mainly as plot devices and for side-plots.
The third thread will be the "stage", where all the RP action proper takes place. Again: ALL OOC POSTS WILL GO ON THE PLANNING THREAD. The Jarl of Hugrunar (that's me) reserves the right to delete any inflammatory, OOC, or inappropriate posts without notice or compensation to the poster. This goes for ALL threads on this board, and throughout Hugrunar. Flamers will be banned from the group. We're here to have some fun.
Especially when it involves sacking and pillaging. Okay! Let's get to it!
