IONA - CONVENT
The Nunnery of Iona was founded in 1200 by Reginald, who was the son of Somerlad, Lord of the Isles. Reginald installed his sister, Beatrice, as the first Prioress. Because of the black robes they wore, the Nunnery became known as "The Black Church".
