In the thirteenth century under the rule of Kublai Khan, the Mongols made three seperate and successive, albeit unsuccessful attacks against the Vietnamese. This article will take a look into those three attacks and explain why the Vietnamese were successful in repelling the invading Mongol army, a force that rivaled that of Rome herself.
