Goldfest: Dead or Alive in Celtia? That IS the question
According to
Vortigern Aedui, "We have some incredible activities lined up for you this year. Come see who's who at the first annual Hood Home Tour and who inhabits the local neighborhoods of Celtia. Better have your torch in case you run into a barrow or get lost in the marketplace. So gear up, and we'll see you at Goldfest in Celtia."
"Five and still alive," claims
Bridgette Cormac, who'll be spinning hits like "I will Survive" and "Staying Alive" at the
Trisk's disco party after the treats
Katlyne MacRoth has up her sleeve and the road trip around Celtia's hood homes. "Look for the pub with the big gold medallion," Bridgette says. "Ya know the one like Tony Manero would wear."
Laurels Curius is spreading rumours about a Samhain Home Decorating Contest co-sponsored by
Arachne's Web starting on October 18, Celtia's big Goldfest day, and ending on October 31st, or thereabouts. Fear not! Celtia will also have a Goldfest festival guide, but for now, keep your eyes peeled on the
planning thread for updates.
Samhain Tricks and Treats
"Samhain in Celtia is not for the squeamish!" cautions
Flidais Niafer. "Be prepared to do some
CSI team work as you encounter six different true-to-death bog bodies, gathered for your perusal in the murky neighborhood of Croghan Hill, home of creepy Old Croghan Man himself. Study them well because, yes, there will a quiz! If such grisly, gruesome findings inspire your imagination, you'll have a chance to write about the bogster of your choice. Honor them with a praise poem, tell a story of their life or death, let your imagination run amuck on our Samhain Bog Tour."
Cruachu Hood Hauntings
The
Cruachu residents are excited about hosting Samhain and also have a few surprises in store for us.
Mebh Cormac has a banshee quiz up her sleeve and
Lasair Cormac is hosting a
Tuatha Dé Danann Masquarade at
The White Bull Pub. Come as your favourite Celtic god or goddess! The graphically talented can dress up in all your finery, while the more writerly inclined can wax poetic about your characters. If you'd prefer to just drink and dance, you can sneak in through the back door unmasked.
The Samhain festivities will begin on November 1 and continue through to November 3. If you get lost along the dark spooky road to Cruachu, follow the links on Bridgette's
Samhain Festival Guide.
