The
La Venta district in
the Highlands of Meso America has recently opened for settlement. Most ably built by
Acolnahuacatzin ShieldJaguar, La Venta is an Olmec site and already boasts two residents!
There are lots of people building homes in the cold far north, in the
Land of the Aurora Borealis.
If you've a craving a caribou hunt or to want to do some fishing, then this is the neighborhood
for you. Do bring a coat though.

Ancient skull unearthed in New York
state
- A human skull was found at the site of the old James Hotel in Water Mill [Suffolk County, New
York], indicating that the land may contain an ancient Native American burial ground.
Fears for Machu Picchu
as mayor builds easy-access bridge
- A Peruvian mayor has built a bridge, opened at the end of December, leading to Machu
Picchu, Peru's Inca citadel, despite warnings it will wreck the archaeological gem and open a
route for drug smugglers.

- A new study finds, that instead of its eastern direction, the Amazon River has also flowed from
east-to-west and, for a time, in both directions at once.
