GEMS Awards Announced!

Goldfest was a true feast this year, and several of our worlds came up with stand-alone events that were awarded GEMS honors (see the main AW page, where the GEMS List may be found).

Celtia had not one, but TWO gems awards this year: for The Boollywood Gala (an incredibly half-spontaneous, half-planned event that ended Goldfest with a bang). If you want to learn everything about the ghoulies and ghosties that live in Celtia lands, try Which Creepy Otherworld Creature Are You? If you follow the links, you’ll learn about more about red-caps and Each-Uisges than you ever wanted to know!!

Edo Shopping SpreeOrient, of course, knocked everyone over with its magnificent 'hood-based event, The Devil Wears A Kimono: Edo Shopping Spree. Scroll down on the Edo (ancient Tokyo) 'hood thread and you will find a world of shops, each one purveying one of Japan's cultural icons, from pheasants to fans, kimonos to tea, with a neat history of the trade and wonderful graphics. Amazing!

One of the best-beloved activities for any AW festival is THE QUIZ, but no one could do it more stylishly than Hellas, which won a GEM award for its Golden Fleece Challenge. You'll learn about Jason and have a great time with the Quiz!

Remember, AW GEMS awards go to a special event that is creative, visually attractive, and an historical learning experience, so you may always nominate any special event sponsored by any world at the Nominations Thread.
