Takurt is a Buddhist talisman in the shape of a long yellow cyllinder made of lead, gold, copper, silver or metal, threaded with string or wool and inscribed with Yahn (magic script). Masters known as Takurt gurus in Thailand imbue them with magic and sell them. Tibetans believe Takurt can protect them from danger and bring good fortune and generally wear several around their necks at once to improve the odds.
