Around the Otherworld in VIII Neighs
After travelling around Ancient Worlds for seven glorious days and nights, celebrating, playing games and sampling exotic wares, you'll finally arrive in Celtia ~ and just in time for Samhain too! Our volunteers have been collaborating with the Sidhe on a line-up of Otherworldly entertainment for your delight. Hold on tight! I "borrowed" the key to the Otherworld Gates from Mac and am about to take you on a whirlwind tour of our offerings.
Wild Ride Dare to take a ride on the wild side! Choose a sidhe steed and join the cavalcade for a crazy five-day crawl through an Otherworld of Hood pubs:
October 28: In keeping with ancient Celtic lore,
Scathach Cruithni will lift her shield at her Highland pub, An Sciath & Scáth, and part the veil between our two worlds. Rumour has it Wallace will also be let loose, only this time he'll be hidng in a roomful of Gauls.
October 29: Proud Scots pub owner Jacques Elliott Cruithni will be offering a whackload of fun games, toe-tapping music and a contest at the
The Bard's Ballad.
October 30: Gentle, scholarly pub owner Bridgette Cormac will have us bobbing for apples at
Isca Inn in the West Country, which she says will also be haunted by beasties.
October 31: Enchanting ~ some say enchanted ~ pub owner Nessa Silures plans to treat us to a magnificent Celtic-syle lighting of the bonfires at her pub An Cruit & Éala.
November 1: On Samhain Day, fiery brugaid Katlyne MacRoth will welcome the spooky lovers of Ancient Worlds to wine and dine at her romantic Irish pub An Caidreamh Suiri.
November 1: In keeping with tradition, on Samhain Night the Wild Ride will end with the foot-stomping ~ hoof-stomping? ~ Oíche Shamhna Ceili at An Cailleach Na Muir hosted by Creidne Niafer, who storytellers says is the old sea hag herself.
Fair warning: Whatever else you do, don't get lost and don't eat or drink the Sidhe offerings! Why not!?? Have you never heard the tales of those who did and ended up staying in the Otherworld forever and a day? For a (relatively) safe journey through Celtia's Samhain landscape, be sure to consult the Wild Ride Guide on October 28.

The Night The Gods Laughed is a literary contest of wit and humour hosted by Nessa Silures and Bardic College that will be judged by the gods themeselves. If you can make 'em laugh, then this is the comedy club for you.

Samhain Warriors' Challenge: Fionn & the Goblin is a call from warrior poet
Fenian Niafer to all you champions and heroes of Ancient Worlds to sharpen your weapons and prepare to beat a feasome goblin at its own game.
Which creepy Otherworld creature are you? You've discovered which gods, kings and sidhe queens you are. From the wild imagination of Katlyne Macroth comes an opportunity to meet the creepy inner Celtic critter who's been hiding in the darkest recesses of your anxiety closet all these years.
Cauldrons of Wisdom Ever wondered what the future holds in store for you? Try your hand at Katlyne MacRoth's ancient divination game this Samhain.
Nine Hazels of Bizdom is a graphic guessing game for pop culture fans. The first three contestants to name all nine famous hazels from North American, Australian and UK TV shows, movies and books will win oodles of AW cash to spend on those new Hood homes you've been eyeing.
Boollywood Star light, star bright, eight monsters win awards this night for their star roles as "the bad guy" in famous myths and legends. Everyone else is there for fame, fortune, fandom, you name it. Celebrate the end of Goldfest in style. Come as your favourite monster, cheesy actor, gossip columnist, #1 fan, or any other character who might attend a glitzy awards gala. Who knows? Maybe you'll meet the producer, director or talent scout of your dreams, or find yourself in the limelight, or at least go home with an autograph from one of the stars of the show ~ if they don't eat you first. Mwahahaha!
