Wanshang hao. Konnichiwa. Namaste.
This year's Goldfest promises to be really exciting, with all the worlds proposing events by the dozen, making sure that you'll all have a great and eventful time! However, in the middle of all this frenzy, in between Germania's Wild Hunt and Celtia's Samhain Warrior Challenge, we thought that our guests would appreciate a more relaxed, but nonetheless busy, day in the Orient. And what could be a better place to welcome you than Edo, at one time the most populated city in the world, and, since its early development in the 16th century, a city that not only the famous samurai, but also merchants, artisans and entertainers made their own! The program? Peaceful sightseeing, sumo-wrestling and.....shopping! Before all the men turn their back in horror at that last word, let's have a closer look at it all
Dragon Key Quest
A wind of panic is blowing on the Floating World - the Keys to the City have been lost! The Shogun himslef has promulgated an edict, promising to bestow on the person who will find them again great honor (as well as a substantial sum of money....). Will you be the first to solve all the riddles and find the Keys?
This event is proposed and directed by Shanti Ashoka; first assistant Aria Murasaka; designs by Shanti Ashoka. The competition opens October 24 and closes the same day. Results will be announced in the evening during the party. More details will be made available soon
The Devil Wears a Kimono: Edo Fall Shopping Spree
Ah, shopping! The ultimate bonding experience....well, for women, at least! But our male visitors may look at shopping with a completely different eye after this experience. Indeed, in the Edo of the 17th century, merchants came from all over Japan and their number grew at a steady pace as the city developped. For this special occasion, we didn't hesitate to call out for shop owners as far away as Rome! Have a look at the city map and go visit them - all will welcome you with a smile, and, more often than not, little gifts that you'll be able to take back with you to your home! It is also a unique way to discover more about the history and culture of Asia
This event is brought to you by the Orient, with the collaboration of the Oriental and AW citizens, based on an idea by Shanti Ashoka
Wrestle your way to the Top
For our guests who require a little more action, they may want to take part to our first sumo bashô (sumo-wrestling tournament): become the first Yokozuna (great champion) in AW's history by answering correctly all the questions - and by answering
first; defeat your opponents and wrestle your way to the top of the hierarchy!
This event is proposed and directed by Aria Murasaka. The competition will go live October 24; time to be determind. Results will be announced in the evening. More details will be made available soon
Of course, as it is tradition, a party will be organized in the streets of Edo at the end of the day - a occasion to watch fireworks above the Sumida by a moonlit night, but also to celebrate the victors of the day!
We're looking forward to your visit on October 24. More surprises are in store for you - please don't forget to check regularly
