The Lions of March

Hi! It's me again...(so soon?) Okay, so I changed my name...and my nationality...and, uh, my face. I kind of got to missing the old Sankh and thought I'd jump back into a kilt and spend some quality time in Egypt. Which means, of course, that you guys have a whole new persona to bug you every couple of issues. Okay, so I'm not wearing a kilt in the picture. You might not know this, but while the winters are fairly warm in Egypt, temperatures can drop suddenly at night even there. The desert can be a cold place.

But you aren't here for a meteorological discussion of Egypt, are you? Okay...okay. So, what's the name of this issue, anyway? (he asked while craning his neck to read the title) Oh, yeah, the Lions of March. Well, I don't know what lions those are...hey, I didn't pick the title. (What's that old saying, "If March comes in like a lion, you'd better keep your kids indoors." Something like that.) Anyway, I don't know about March coming in like a lion, but this month's editors certainly attacked the news like lions. Okay, that was a stretch. It's very late here. But we have some really fascinating stuff going on — not just at Ancientworlds, but in Archaeological news, too. And I should know...I've read all the articles already! (Perks of being an editor.) We had parties and fests and blowouts all over. Hellas just finished their Olympic Festival (yeah, I know they spell it differently...what do you want from me, I'm an Egyptian!), Meso celebrated Valentine's Day in style, and the Orient wowed us again this year with Lunar Fest. In fact, if you haven't seen a festival in your hometown already, just wait, because there's a Springfest coming to a town near you soon! But, I'll let the world editors tell you all that. For me, I'm gonna go get a cup of coffee and read the paper...again!

Sankhkare

And now for a word from our editors: For our readers (or would be readers!) on dialup, you may be happy to note that the entire acta has been slimmed down in weight somewhat. Normally all our featured bits, ie; the personas, groups and locations include their signature image minimized in code. This issue to try to alleviate the download time all except the smallest image files have been resized in image programs and optimized as well! May not sound like much but it cut down nearly 5mb total.
