ACTA DIURNA issue 3
The New Year Edition

Are you asking yourself the same thing I am: What? 2006 ... already? Surprise! It's a new year, and we have new volunteers at the editing helm for many of our worlds — including me. No, I'm not new to the Acta, but I am new to sitting in a chair with Global Editor stenciled on the back. Whoa! The view is amazing. Hey, I can see my house from here!

Yes, that's right, I'm not The Orient's world editor anymore, but I'm happy to announce that my place has been taken by twin-editors, Aria Murasaka and Shanti Ashoka. (I will refrain from saying it took two of them to take my place ... mwah-ha-ha-ha!!) Kidding, ladies! Seriously, this team has never failed to be anything but superb at whatever they put their collective hands to, so I have no doubt you'll be impressed with them. They're not the only new faces you'll be seeing in these pages, however.

In Rome, Millenium patron Valeria Casta Valerius has assumed the mantle from Tanaquil Sergius, and if this issue is any indication she'll do an outstanding job filling those very large shoes. Not that Tan's feet are big ... I meant ... come on! You know what I meant!

Egypt's royal reporter brush is being wielded by Hilarity Hatshepsut this year. Hilarity's another Millenium Patron who is very active in Egypt ... and much appreciated, too! Taking over from Lotus Horemheb won't be easy, but I'm sure she's up to the challenge.

Over in Meso, Bahiyyah Siduri has put her own sanity in question, by agreeing to take on the dual role of new Scribe and Acta editor at once. She'll single-handedly be replacing the amazing Etana duo Aya and Rayhaneh, who have moved on to ... other tasks.

We're not all new to the press pass, though. Every issue, with the assistance of (hopefully) lots of volunteer guest reporters, you'll still be seeing some familiar faces here. Mangas Cochise will continue to lead the charge in The Americas. As always, Anarane Burgundian in Germania and Bronwyn Cumhaill in Celtia will keep you informed of the lastest happenings in their worlds. And Anna Hippon will keep on swinging the latest from Hellas your way. Heraklia and Laurels will be keeping me in line (or trying to do), and we'll all be attempting to bring you the best information on our AncientPlanet. So, welcome to 2006! What are you reading me for? Go ... look at the "new" Acta!
