ACTA DIURNA issue 1

Welcome to the fall edition and the first issue of Volume V of AW's ACTA DIURNA! (for those who count such things, transitions in editorship led us to be late last fall - our first edition of Volume IV wasn't until November).

First things first! We've had seven hard-working editions in the 2004-05 year, and the Editors in consultation over a punch of meade spiked with Kash, have decided this year to present bi-monthly editions of the ACTA in the 2005-06 year. That means - September 1, November 1, and so forth. We'll deal with special activities like major festivals and holidays with a shortened "Special Edition" on an "as needed basis.

So, look for a "special edition" to celebrate this year's fall GOLDFEST in October!

Laurels Curius will continue her splendid work as primary editor of the ACTA, with a little assistance from Yours 'Umbly (in this case, Laurels went on vacation during the past two weeks so Sankira Qin was our general editor filling in the formats for us! Thank you Sankira!). The full list of editors, assistant editors and special reporters is listed on your left. Note the addition of our newest Acta World Editor, Anna Hippon. Welcome aboard Anna! She's done a beautiful job her first time out too, check out the Hellenic World News to see for yourself. We greatly appreciate all our editors efforts, it's not an easy task and requires alot of time and work. We can never thank our World Editors enough, but we try!

There's a lot to see in this edition, each world editor went all out to bring us the news, newly created groups spotlighted, interesting members to meet, and last but not least Senex brings us our first ever Special Report in Global news pg1. Plus plans are being settled as we speak for the GOLDFEST celebrations, reminding us all that AncientWorlds' launch was in October, 2002 - three years and counting. Thanks to all our readers for their ideas, suggestions, and shelling out those sesterci for each edition!

STOP PRESS!
As we put the ACTA to bed for this edition, many of you know that we are hoping and praying for our AncientWorlds members who live in and around New Orleans and the Gulf Coast, in the wake of Hurricane Katrina and its devastation. Keep them in your thoughts, and welcome them back to AW just as soon as the gods permit!
