Summertime in Hellas
It's summer and time to relax in the Hellenic World! There are lots of new members to meet and greet! Our ongoing Attic Trivia quiz thread is alive and kicking, as is the Hellas Ongoing Graphics Challenge. You can always leave an offering at The Vestibule of Mt. Olympus thread or the Shield of Alcibiades for a drink if the gods are making your summer a little to hot. And stay with us for some summertime fun!
Group News:
Hellenike Paideia is currently offering a course in ancient Greek. If you are interested in learning, Tanaquil Sergius is a marvelous instructor. It's not too late, so sign up today!
The group Philos Sophia honors the Greek philosopher Epicurus with a summer-long event that will include an essay competition, a series of chat discussions [see schedule] and a live trivia quiz, open to all group members. Live events begin on Friday, July 1st. For details, see the announcement on the group board.
Alternate Realms and Writing is being renovated. For more information, see this news story and watch for changes being made on the group board itself.
Neighborhood News
The newly organized Greek Islands neighborhood is in need of a builder. Also, any suggestions for new 'hoods under the Greek Islands are welcome. Builders will be needed for these as well. The more islands, the more we can island hop!
Announcement
I, Louisa Agis, will be stepping down as the Hellas editor after this issue. I would like to take this time to thank all of you who have contributed and made our section a great success for the past year. Special, heartfelt thank you's go to Alerissa Nestor and Anna Hippon who were so diligent on keeping me updated on what was happening and being planned for Hellas. I also want to thank all the main ACTA editors for being so patient in working with me in making any necessary changes. Laurels, you have the patience of a saint! I couldn't have done it without everyone's generous assistance. Best wishes to all of the ACTA staff now and for future editions. And please welcome Anna Hippon as our new editor!
