Groups in the Spotlight

Quill and Parchment
Writer's block be gone! Quill and Parchment is our featured group this month. It is a group that focuses on the improvement of writing skills for writers of all levels. While the main focus of the group is to assist the citizens of AW with their various styles of posting, Q&P takes a developmental approach rooted in applied theory and creative development.

AW Citizen in the Spotlight

Bacchus Isocrates
Our featured member this month is Bacchus Isocrates! Bacchus is the founder and one of the leaders of the The ACCBC Hunting Lodge & Gaming Center group in Hellas. He was instrumental in bringing to life the ACCBC Tall Tales Contest for our recent Springfest. He was also gracious enough to be the host for the party held at the end of Hellas' festival. Thank you, Bacchus! Take the time to stop by his beautifully designed, award winning home. You will not be disappointed. He may even let you sample some of his fine wine.

Featured Neighborhood

Greek Asia Minor
Known to the Greeks as Anatolia, Greek Asia Minor was a definite crossroads to ancient civilizations as it is the broad peninsula between the Mediterranean and Black Seas. From the 9th to the 6th centuries BCE, a long procession of Greeks, including Ionians, Æolians & Dorians, migrated to the shores of what became Greek Asia Minor. Come visit this month's neighborhood in the spotlight!

Group News

Here is a more in depth look at what all is happening in our featured group, Quill and Parchment:

IClaudius Antoninus was promoted to the new position of graphics editor and completely re did the group page and logo. The group page is all original and shows what can be done to individualize your group pages. He was voted an award plaque by the group for his extraordinary contribution.

For the first time voting for The Post Of The Month Award was opened to all members of AW sitewide and participation was great. There were 437 votes. The winner, Ursus Longinus, was awarded Post Of The Month plaque for his story, ‘Bobby.’ The latest nominations for the new Post Of The Month are coming in and the nominations will close on May 21. The voting will again be sitewide.

An off AW web site is in the planning stages and will give greater exposure to our talented writers. They hope to have it up and operating by June.

A special award plaque was voted to leader, Kallistos Alexandros, for excellence in group management, and we can certainly see why with such an active group!

Other Group News:

The group, Philos Sophia, is planning a festival relating to Epicurus and his school. Plans will likely include a competition, trivia quiz and a group chat. If this is something you think that will interest you, stay tuned to the group board for further updates!

Take the Alexander Quiz brought to you by Heraklia Aelius and Publius Fabius Scipio, members of the Alexander the Great group.
