Kidnapping of divine

Springfest
2005 a Success!
Mesopotamia opened AncientWorlds' SF 2005 and hosted three events for the Spring-flingers. Leah Enkidu provided a super and challenging quiz on Mesopotamian goddesses and the Hanging Gardens of Babylon. *passes out aspirin and gives the quiz-takers sympathetic looks* This reporter was wary of even attempting the quiz! She chickened out with barely a fleeting feeling of regret! *grin*
Last, but not least, was our offering in the historical realm -- Infinite Goddess: An Exhibition of Mesopotamian Goddesses. This exhibition presented the many faces and roles of goddesses in Mesopotamia, from a goddess of the dreaded Underworld to those more benign goddesses of the grain. Visitors can hang on to their tour tickets, and can return for multiple visits. Currently, there are plans to expand the exhibit as much as possible. Infinite Goddess was honored to receive the Silver Best of Fest Award in the Historical Category! This Springfest was awesome all around! This editor highly recommends that if you missed out on any event, you go for a visit! Just grab your camera, a cold drink and some popcorn! You won't be disappointed! Great job and thanks to all those who worked on SF!

This is another fairly new group in Mesopotamia; and it promises to be a successful one. The group's theme is the academic study of the origins of Christianity. Interested members are invited to share their 'gnosis' with the group! Member Spotlight: Mesopotamia is delighted to have Ashnan Etana residing amongst us! Never let it be said that we don't get the wildest folks, but also the coolest! *grin* Ashnan says about herself: "Besides being interested in ancient history, I am a comic book junkie and a fanfiction writer and reader." Her home was the Silver Winner for Meso in the Best Homes contest. Feel free to visit Ashnan's home...and while you're there ask her about that Hunting License! Inquiring minds want to know! ;) Featured Location: Mystery, myth and history come together in the Persian city of Petra. If the pictures ring a bell, then just remember the climax of the film Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Who wouldn't be intrigued by a city with exotic place-names like the Temple of the Winged Lions, Wadi Musa, and the High Place of Sacrifice? Come visit Petra today, and be sure to also take the available Adventure Tours! Don't forget to sign Persia's Guest Registry to let us know you were there! |
