| Last night on the Jay Leno Show, X-Men actor Hugh Jackman talked about meeting his first love, a young Japanese woman, while visiting Japan in the early days of his career.
"One of my friends recommended I climb Mount Fuji, that it's a 'must do' in Japan."
"I was with a bunch of tourists like myself, when I turned around and tripped. I will never forget her smile. There I was at her feet, just lying there in the dirt - not the most dignified way to meet someone," he said with a good-natured laugh. |

| "She just glanced down at me and calmly asked if I was looking for something. I laughed, looked into her eyes and said, 'Not anymore!' All she did was arch a cynical brow and say, 'Really?' At that moment she won my heart," Jackman confessed.
Hugh
and Aria the day they met at Mt Fuji.
"During the next two months we were never apart, travelling and having fun getting to know each other. Then one day she announced that she had a previous engagement...that before she met me she had accepted a job that would not allow her to follow me.

I was devastated. I was just starting my career and needed her by my side. Then one day I woke up and she wasn’t there. All she left was a note that said: 'ai shite iru kara', 'because I love you'" he said, finishing his story with a sad smile.

Jackman never saw her again and even though he is now happily married, he still thinks of her often, especially when he returns to her country.
We finally found the young mystery woman, Aria Murasaka, but she did not wish to comment on Jackman's story.

took her to meet his family in Australia.
