A quiz about ancient Roman feeding habits designed for Springfest MMV

You think Italian food and pasta, pizza, tomato sauce and espresso coffee come to mind.
Well the ancient Romans didn't have any of those, yet had a healthy and varied diet, with bread and cereals, vegetables and fruit, and not too much meat. In his Civil War Caesar comments that his men, while fighting Pompey in Greece, had plenty of meat but were falling ill from lack of cereals and vegetables. In desperation, they made a sort of bread out of some roots they found.

An ancient Roman menu looks stilishly modern, as you can see from this example created by Senex Caecilius.

The Roman Cookery Quiz is intended as a lightweight introduction to knowledge about the ancient Romans dietary habits.
Try it here and grab your plaque at the end!

If you want to know more, and even try a few recipes, I can recommend a couple of books:
Mark Grant's Roman Cookery and Ilaria Giacosa's A Taste of Ancient Rome.
Enjoy!
