WHAT IS THIS YOU’VE FOUND?
In the Shadows of the great Meeting House, you have discovered an odd-shaped bit of stone. With a little cleaning up, it appears to be a small figure of a man. More specifically, it seems to be a Druid or a Bard. You can tell he is a person of importance by the torque about his neck. The harp he is carrying leads me to believe he is more of the bardic sort. Bards and Druids were high-status positions within the Celtic tribal structure. Their rank was second only to the King or Righ ("Rix", in Gaul).
This little fellow may have adorned a marker post in front of one of the cottages, identifying the person who lived there. In a society which had no written language to speak of, such markers would have been an effective way to find who you were looking for.
CONGRATULATIONS! You have successfully completed your ARCHAEOLOGICAL TOUR OF GAUL.
