Egypt's springfest date has been set for April 28th and plans are brewing as we speak for it's upcoming festivities list. However, Egypt's citizens still need your help! If you have any ideas or suggestions for events to feature, please leave a message in Lotus's Per, or inside the General Offices planning thread under the Kemetan Festivity Hall. Last year we broke all the records and entertained the whole site with our award winning Day in the Life and Malkata Scavenger Hunt, what will it be this year? Voice your opinion and help shape another great Egyptian springfest!

Ancient Worlds Virtual Bazaar has been unveiled! It's doors opened on January 25th to the loud applause of ancient shoppers everywhere. Located within are Lady Reylari's lovely Gifts of the Nile, an Iunu Safari with wild beasts to amaze, Ankheri's Star Sign Banners Shoppe, the very unique Emporium of Alexandria, Onion's Farmers Market (fabulous! and fresh!) the Scribal School of Mennefer, and who can pass up the Babylon Bazaar who's proprietor Nebby is always up to something. Post in the thread or contact Lotus if you've a shoppe of your own to open within.

North Americans who's heart resides in Egypt are thrilled to learn of
King Tut's Return. His golden visage has not been seen in that land since 1979, and will be touring through a list of museums from coast to coast until September 2007 when the golden funerary mask and the rest of King Tutankhamun's burial goods will return to Egypt forevor. Visit the post above if you wish to arrange a get together of like minded AW'ers to visit the king on a group tour. The exhibit is currently in Germany. Residents all over have always flocked to the Egyptian Trivia Thread, by far being the best trivia thread around with the most activity. Occasionally we even get such indepth answers as Sementaway offered that end up providing us with an excellent resource as well. (It wasn't the first time!)If you have a hankering for knowledge or just enjoy trivia, I guarantee our trivia will provide the best challenge!
Egypt's resource thread, Living in Egypt offers a grand selection of sources for avatars, research on Egyptian names for men and women, backgrounds, icons, bars and other graphics to decorate your per with, and beautiful family plaques to display. There are new sources recently added to by Anna Hippon you wont want to miss. If you have a request for avatars, images, names or other, post it there. If you have a favorite source of your own, post it within to share it with others.
An update on Groups
Food for Thought has seen a great deal of new material of late with recipes and information offered to tempt our taste buds. Topics like Macrobiotics, Cookbooks and various Wine have been posted much in, as well as Food of the Ancient World who's posts offer more than a morsel of normally hard to find information on how and what the ancients ate.
KMT, Egypt's Pharaonic Roleplay group is a breath away from kicking off it's newest story Daughter of Ra and Lotus -who will be playing the part of Hatshepsut - will be putting out the casting call with a list of charactors shortly. The best time to jump in on a story is while it's new! Choose your charactors and help set the stage.
Ancient Expressions still holds AncientWorlds one and only Hieroglyph School, perfect if you have an interest in learning or gaining further understanding on Egypt's ancient language. It also offers it's members their own personal Glyph to give their identity in posts more individuality.
Pyramid Club, roleplay set in 1920's Egypt, has it's fair share of mysteries. Hotel guests may enjoy the lively cafe filled with potted palms, shady antiquities dealers or just sit back and observe the other intriguing guests! There's always something afoot in the Blue Lotus too, the hotel's hot nightspot.
