In a little village now called, Vergina,
about 45 miles southwest of Thessaloniki, Alexander The Great Buried
the remains of his father, Philip II, King Of The Macedones. Here also,
Kassandros the usurper, buried the murdered boy king, Alexander IV, son
of The Great Alexander.This place is Aegae, the holy city of ancient
Macedon where for 2300 years its royal families have slept beneath huge
mounds of earth placed there by The Macedones to protect their sacred
dead. They sleep there still.
