Table of Native American Cultural / Language Correspondences
Associated to Place: AncientWorlds > the Americas > North America > articles -- by * Mangas Cochise (14 Articles), Historical Article

I'd publish this table of correspondences on site, but I've run into file size limitations, and I'm finding it easier to edit using Dreamweaver.

Currently, there are well over 300 tribes (cultural units, nations, take your pick) listed, although some are alternative names. Estimations are that there are 400-500 cultural units of North Native Americans, which may mean this work is over half done.

The table is arranged alphabetically by tribe name, and linked to alternative names, geographic culture area, a more specific location, and linguistic groupings. Brief additional notes are provided for some cultues.

The original purpose of the table was to provide a way for members of Turtle Nations to look up linguistic groups for the tribes/cultural groups they wished to discuss there. Rapidly, this table took on a life of its own.

Visit the table at: Table of Native American Cultural / Language Correspondences.
