There were two classes of physicians in Mesopotamia; they were the asu(m) who provided technical care, and the asipu(m) who provided magical treatment.

Scribal Changes for Mesopotamia

Our two veteran Scribes, Voluptua Amytas and Apiladey ApilSin retired on Sunday, November 7th. They now are venerable Scriba Emeritus!! Woohoo!! We salute these two wonderful members of our world for the super-fabulous job they've performed with their talents, creativity, humor, and friendliness over the past couple of years. They have most definitely made Mesopotamia a great place to live here in AncientWorlds. Kudos to you both and our deepest thanks!! Its also a relief and a joy to know they will both be staying on with us (as if I'd let either slip away! *grin*).

Coming in to take on a term as Scribe for Mesopotamia is the irrepressible, warm-hearted, and funny Tiglath ApilSin! Welcome onboard the team, Tiggy!! We know you'll be a great asset to us. By the way, you can also find our "Tiggy" bartending over in the Orient at the Kublai Khantina as Kenji Ashikaga. As Laurels Curius put it: "Who says bartending can't take you to the top?" *grin*

New Mesopotamian Group!

MesoDing4.gifA new group is currently forming that focuses on learning the various Mesopotamian languages. Please feel free to stop in and visit É-DUB-BA-A. Haum Cyaxeres and Kalal Ubaratutu are your hosts and instructors. Currently, lessons are being created for the Sumerian language.

Welcome back, Marduk Hammurabi!

A very warm welcome to Marduk on his return to AW. He's been graciously keeping us up-to-date on various archaeological news in our historical thread: Recent Archaeological Discoveries in the Near East. Please stop in to read his posts and don't forget to visit his bitum or even buy him a bowl of kash at the Kash Bowl. :)

City State Project Status

MesoDing3.gif
If you would like to check the status of all the city states in Mesopotamia, please check out the chart created by yours truly. Please note that several of our city states (such as Phoenicia's Byblos and Assyria's Ashur) are seeking volunteer city builders. Interested? Please leave one of the Mesopotamian Scribes a message at their bitum.

Have you seen this veiled woman?

MesoDing10.gif Last we heard, our esteemed neighbor, Leah Enkidu, was leaving graffiti on some big wall over in the Orient. If you do see her, please send her home before the panda eats her or the Evil Emperor locks her up in a deep, dark dungeon. *wink*
