A New Scribe in The Roman World

Porcia

Porciae Porcius, who has been a member of AS and AW for quite some time, has joined the Scribal Force of The Roman World. A young American, studying the classics in Texas, one of our AW html wizards and a young lady with a smile on her face and doted with a good dose of fun, Porciae is an asset to our site. If you see her online, don't hesitate to ask her questions, or just meet and greet her!

Rome Gearing Up for the SATURNALIA

The 17th, 18th and 19th of December 2004 AD will be the dates set for Rome's SATURNALIA festival! So climb up you attic and get you pileus to dust off for the big event!

The festivities will take three days, starting from the traditional date of December 17th. For information on the festival, its program and Roman/AW citizens spreading a merry atmosphere, see the Saturnalia 2004 thread. Of course, there will be plenty for you to enjoy this year, too: a scavenger hunt, a neighborhoods tour, a Latin quiz and much more!

Saturnalia is all about celebrating the Golden Age, reversed roles within society for a few days, it's all about making us aware that things were not always as they are and may change in time (omnia mutantur, nos et mutamur in illis).

Roman Neighborhoods News

All the Roman Neighborhoods we wanted to have online on the AW Neighborhoods Opening Day are on! Now it is time to start adding information to the texts on the provinces and cities we already have online. There is still a considerable amount of provinces that have to be worked on and many provinces don't have cities added yet. If citizens want to "live" there and associate their home(s) to a certain Roman province, there need to be cities first. I call upon all you Roman Citizens to check the Roman Neighborhoods Report and if there are places you would like to work on, or even if they aren't there yet, please contact Tanaquil Sergius to discuss further details and make arrangements. Who wouldn't want to be mentioned as an AW city builder??
