“How can we attain this plant?” Dr. Rawlings asks before you can give in to the urge to harm Ut-napishtim.

“This is a secret of the gods. The Plant of Rejuvenation has a root like camel-thorn and the stalk is thorny like a rose. They are razor-sharp and will cut your hands if you are not careful.

“Take the boat out into the sea. Ur-shanabi knows the place where the plant can be found. It’s deep, but well worth the trouble.”

You follow the doctors aboard the boat. The shore is barely discernible when Ur-shanabi finally announces that you’ve reached the correct place. Dr. Moony offers to go, but you don’t trust that his heart can take such strain. You decide to go instead.

As the men tie stones to your feet, you wonder if perhaps you shouldn’t have volunteered. Dr. Rawlings sticks a knife in your belt so you can cut off the stones. Ur-shanabi hands you a long, wooden pipe so you can breathe for a time under the water. With one last look, you put the pipe in your mouth, close your eyes and go in backwards.

The stones do their job and take you down fast. You quickly take a deep breath from the pipe, then let it go. You’re at the bottom now and can see a thorny plant. You quickly pluck it and it bites into your fingers. You don’t pay the wound any mind as you cut the stones from your feet with your fee hand.

Your lungs and throat start to burn from lack of oxygen, but with the stones gone, you quickly rise to the surface. You reach the blessed air and are amazed that you are not far from shore. You must have caught a strong current.

The others have spotted you and arrive shortly after. You’re still gasping for breath, but happy for in your bloodied hand, you still grasp the Plant of Rejuvenation.

“So this unassuming plant will make the old man young?” Dr. Moony muses as he cuts off a piece. You:

Stop him from eating it, for first you want Ut-napishtim’s confirmation that it’s the correct plant.

Are too tired to think too much about it, let alone stop Dr. Moony.
