Caius Julius Caesar is, of course, playing the role of Caesar in "Pax Inter Pares", his "what if..." roleplay group in the Roman World. As being Caesar, he is the Pontifex Maximus from 62 until 44 BCE, the highest priest of Jupiter and the highest ritual magistrate in the Cult of Vesta. He is, so to speak, the superior of the Vestal Virgins and the high priest finally responsible for their ritual actions. Because of the fact that our Caius Julius Caesar would like to get to know more of the Roman religion and aspects of the Cult of Vesta in particular, he has joined the FANVM VESTAE and our Virgo Maxima has granted him the only masculin priest title available in the FANVM, that of Pontifex Maximus.

Caesar, you are most welcome here and we hope you will assist us in and protect our ritual actions in favor of the state!

    I shall, Tanaquil, be most diligent in assisting the Vestals in their duties guarding the flame of Rome. Though I do not tend it, I shall ensure it's safety.

May I suggest another thread for perhaps the Atrium board? I have always been fascinated by the physical space and topography of Rome. What if we had a board dedicated to the special religious offices we inhabit here; that is, for research and discussion of the Regia, Domus Publica, Atrium Vestae et al? There we can discuss finds and facts, recontructions and drawings etc.

I, for one, have a great book that has many plans and brief articles about all the known buildings in Rome, as well as bibiliographies to refer one to their mentionings in ancient texts.

    I am glad that you feel so honored being around and helping us out! We now officially have the PM on our side, so this group is truely blessed! LOL. As for a thread on Roman topography, I think this is a very good idea and I suggest that this thread be created in the Templum Vestae Board, which is our board for all background information, articles, links and things like that. The Atrium Vestae is our Roleplay board.
