Even Etrurians was already warned for the presence of two Roman legiones, the arrival of a third legio from south surprise them.

As Hibernicus leads legio XXII towards the bridge, the Etrurians try to reinforce the detachment under attack. The other two detachments move to south.

Legio VIII legatus, seeing that movement, evaluates he can try to capture Pistoria bridge and order to advance. Quickly the last Etrurian detachment (that moved to replace the one that was just north from the city and that is running to reinforce Hellana bridge).

At that time Hibernicus is passing the stream, assaulting Hellana. Legio XI is passing the Umbro river intercepting the Etrurian reinforcements.
As ordered the Roman volunteers and the Cortona cavalry pass the stream remaining on RH wing of legio XXII. From there they can spot 4000 Etrurians incoming from their castra.

For a while the battle is confused but, as legio XI has passed the river, the Etririans fate is signed.
In less than an hour Hellana garrison is annhilated.
While the two legiones are dealing with the Etrurian reinforcements, the Roman volunteers can easily conquer the enemy castra since in that moment it is undefended.

Before to be totally encircled, the Etrurians abandon the field refuging in Pistoria.

Meanwhile legio VIII is engaged at the Pistoria bridge by a mixed detachment of Gauls and irregular troops.
Initially it seems the rebels are able to keep the control of the bridge but, seeing the southern front collapsing, also they flee to Pistoria.

At the end of the day, Etrurians are controlling only the city of Pistoria.
